One, simple word: YOU!
My name is Brian Berni, and I'm this guy on the right. I live in a small town near Milan, Italy with my beautiful wife. I'm 34, and have spent most of my life in academia. I have two degrees: one in Italian Literature, the other in Medieval History.
I have always been insanely passionate about books and writing. In 2008, I decided to take my interests to a whole new level and applied for a job at the Vatican Secret Archives. That was not your usual "send your resumé" type of application: I had to endure a six hour Latin language test, which I eventually passed. After a long training period, I was employed by the Secret Archives as a manuscript researcher. My cubicle was in a large hall with walls decorated by the likes of Michelangelo and Raffaello, and this is what I saw every day before getting to my PC:
Not bad, eh? I really loved what I did, although as with every job, it had its pros and cons. But then, one day in 2013, everything changed: I was laid off due to Pope Benedict's resignation (long story, won't bore you with the details!). I was really down and desperate for a long time, but then I discovered:

I was hooked! It was the perfect medium that combined my love of books with my love for writing. Ever since then, I've been a bestselling author, and an avid reader of all things author/publishing related.
